Rupert Degas
Rupert Degas has narrated over 300 audiobooks, including titles by Oscar Wilde, Arthur Conan Doyle, Mervyn Peake, Bram Stoker and many more. He has received particular critical acclaim for his performances of Jupiter’s Travels and Dreaming of Jupiter by Ted Simon, Flanagan’s Run by Tom McNab, and Gerald Durrell’s memoirs A Zoo in My Luggage, The Whispering Land, Beasts in My Belfry and The Aye-Aye and I (all available on Naxos AudioBooks). He has won over 20 AudioFile Earphones Awards and has been nominated for several Audies. He was honoured with an AudioFile Golden Voice lifetime achievement award in 2022.
Rupert has also lent his voice to numerous cartoons, including Mr Bean, Robotboy and Bob the Builder and has performed in over 30 radio productions, including The Gemini Apes, The Glittering Prizes and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. He spent 18 months in the West End performing in the comedy Stones in his Pockets.
He lives in Sydney, Australia.
