Jim Norton

Jim Norton, one of Ireland’s leading actors, has worked regularly on Joycean topics, and particularly Ulysses, during his long career in film, television, radio and theatre. Born and brought up in Dublin, he spent his early acting years in Irish radio. Denys Hawthorne

Denys Hawthorne’s long and distinguished career has encompassed extensive work in theatre, television and film, both in England and Ireland. Drama has included Shakespeare and Chekhov, as well as many contemporary plays, while he has been seen in popular TV series including Inspector Morse, and Father Ted, and The Russia House, and Emma on the wide screen. Throughout, radio performance has been a constant theme, notably in drama and poetry.

Nicholas Boulton

Nicholas Boulton studied at the Guildhall School in London, winning the BBC Carleton Hobbs Award for Radio Drama. He has performed in radio plays for the BBC ever since. He is an award-winning audiobook narrator whose narrations have received many accolades, including from AudioFile magazine, the Audies, and SOVAS. He has recorded over 40 titles for Naxos AudioBooks, by authors such as Wilkie Collins, Dickens, Dostoyevsky, Lawrence Durrell, Gogol, Gorky, Lermontov and Laclos. As a video game voice actor his extensive list of credits includes Hawke in Dragon Age, Colonel Flounder in Little Big Planet, and Druth in the popular Hellblade series. Appearances on film and TV include Shakespeare in Love, Arn: The Knight Templar, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Endeavour, Midsomer Murders, Casualty and Heartbeat. On stage he has performed on several occasions with the Royal Shakespeare Company, most notably in Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy.

Marcella Riordan

Marcella Riordan began her career at The Abbey School in Dublin and has worked in theatres all over Ireland and the UK, including Druid Theatre and Lyric (Belfast). She has worked extensively on BBC Radio and RTÉ. Her previous work on James Joyce text includes playing Gerty McDowell in Anthony Burgess’s Blooms of Dublin (BBC/RTÉ), Zoe in Ulysses (RTÉ) and Molly Bloom for Naxos AudioBooks’s recording of Ulysses. She was awarded Best Actress for her portrayal of Nancy in the BBC Radio play The Old Jest. Her film and TV work includes playing the lead role in The Long March, a BBC play about the deaths of 10 Republican prisoners on hunger strike.
