Reviews
This classic set of short stories highlights the notorious but dashing Arsène Lupin, who is both a clever crime solver and a gentleman burglar. Although Lupin is French, he is performed most admirably by the British narrator David Timson. He presents a hero/antihero who is elusive, reclusive, and often subversive but never abusive. Lupin may take your purse – but never your life. Timson’s upper-crust and arrogant, ironic tone gives listeners clear insight into the debonair thief’s character. While times and societal values have changed since the 1913 original publication date, crime stories still intrigue many listeners, and these will not disappoint.
